Our History

Apopka is situated at about 28°30″ north latitude and approximately 150 feet above sea level and has been the community and trading center of Northwest Orange County since the area was first settled more than a hundred years ago.

Our Mission

The mission of the Apopka Historical Society is to collect, interpret and present the history and culture of North West Orange County, Florida to all the people of the Apopka area and to other visitors attracted to the city. The Society is dedicated to education and to promoting pride in the heritage of the men and women, from all stations of life that lived, worked and died to make Apopka special.  We are currently trying to expand our museum to display more of our history Click below to help us grow.
